How eSIMzo compares travel eSIM plans

The cheapest plan is a useful place to start. It isn’t automatically the right plan for your trip. Here’s how our comparisons work and what the information on a plan card means.

How plans are ordered

On a destination page, the default list shows matching plans from the lowest listed total price upward. Filters change which plans appear. This price order is not a quality score or an endorsement.

Providers cannot pay for a higher position in that comparison list. An affiliate commission does not change a plan’s place in the list or the facts shown about it.

If we highlight a plan for a particular use—such as a short stay or a larger data need—we should explain the reason beside that recommendation. “Best” without a stated reason is not useful to a traveler.

What we compare

We look at the details that can change whether a plan works for a trip:

  • Total price

The listed plan price, with the provider’s checkout as the final price to confirm before paying.

  • Data

The stated allowance and, where disclosed, any high-speed cap or slower speed that follows it.

  • Validity

How long the plan lasts and when that period begins.

  • Local network

The network partner a plan may use, when the provider identifies it.

  • Coverage and access

The places covered by the plan, plus any stated 5G or network restrictions.

  • Practical features

Hotspot, top-ups, calls and texts when the provider gives enough information to confirm them.

For fixed-data plans, price per GB is an indicative comparison: listed plan price divided by the stated data allowance. We don’t treat an “unlimited” label as unlimited high-speed data. Check the fair-use terms and reduced-speed rules before buying.

How we use network speed information

A published benchmark measures the network and conditions described in its source report. It does not measure the speed of every travel eSIM using that network. Roaming arrangements, traffic routing, plan caps, location and time of day can affect your result.

We show the publisher and reporting period with network figures so you can judge how current and relevant they are. We don’t use a national speed average to promise that one plan will be fastest everywhere.

The limits of a comparison

We compare the providers and plans we can list with usable information; eSIMzo is not a catalogue of every offer on the market. Prices, availability, coverage and terms can change. Before purchasing, confirm the final price, destination coverage, activation rule and restrictions on the provider’s checkout page.
